How to search for your pictures
When I upload your photograph to this website I associate a set of
keywords with your picture to help you find it.
1. Search
- At the bottom of this page is a search box.
Try entering your sail number, hull number, boat name or class name, and
then click on the search button. If you are lucky a set of
image thumbnails satisfying your search will be displayed.
Note if your boat name or class name has two words use an
underscore character '_' to join them together e.g. Sea_Cat or
Hobie_16.
- If your search is unsuccessful, and you had entered multiple
keywords, try searching using just one keyword at a time. If you had
entered two keywords you will only get the images that had been tagged
with both keywords. (I might have only seen your boat name or
your sail number, but not both.)

2. View
- The search results are displayed as image
thumbnails. To see a larger version of any image click on its
thumbnail. This preview image is 500 pixels wide. Note the
full resolution version of the image will be much larger than
the preview, typically 3600 pixels wide. You can look at a full
size sample image here.
3. Purchase
- While viewing a larger version of an image you
can choose to purchase a full resolution version of the photo by
clicking 'Buy Photo'. A small window will pop up listing
the price. If you wish you can click the 'Add to Cart' button.
I make use of PhotoShelter to handle
the distribution of my photos. If you want to purchase an image
you will be prompted to login or create a PhotoShelter account.
This simply involves using your email address as your
Photoshelter login name, and choosing a password. (I know, I
don't like having to create accounts either, but PhotoShelter
needs some way of identifying you so that your orders can be
tracked.)
- You can go to your Shopping Cart now or at any time by clicking the
cart button in the main header.
- In the Shopping Cart window you can continue to the Checkout. You
can also remove an item or empty your cart.
- Your order is fulfilled through PhotoShelter
and PayPal. Note that when payment is received PhotoShelter creates a URL
that is valid for only 72 hours for download of that picture.
